alius Pharma is providing a fixed dose combination ESCACID-DXR (Pantoprazole sodium 40 mg and Domperidone 30 mg SR Capsules) used to inhibit gastric acid secretion.
ESCACID-DXR (Pantoprazole sodium 40 mg and Domperidone 30 mg SR Capsules) is a combination product comprising of Pantoprazole sodium 40 mg and Domperidone 30 mg in the Sustained Release form which is used in the treatment of Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease, Gastritis, Non-Ulcer Dyspepsia, Gastric or Duodenal Ulcer, and Dyspepsia.
ESCACID-DXR acts by inhibiting the dopaminergic actions, thereby increasing the GI motility and fastens gastric emptying. Pantoprazole is a Proton Pump Inhibitor. Domperidone is an Anti-emetic that blocks the actions of Dopamine which is situated in the chemoreceptor trigger zone that regulates the nausea and vomiting. Side effects such as headache, insomnia, dizziness, skin rashes, GI disturbances, e.t.c. may or may not occur. It is not recommended to use in patients those who are hypersensitive to ESCACID-DXR, in pregnancy and in children less than 12 years of age. Longer use of this medication is to be avoided. Caution should be taken when Domperidone is administered along with MAO Inhibitors.
ESCACID-DXR is a well absorbed drug when administered as an enteric-coated or delayed-release tablet. It produces faster pain relief, ulcer healing and greater efficacy in oesophageal reflux disease.
Recommended dose: One Capsule to be taken once daily.

lifast (orlistat capsules) contains the generic medicine orlistat 120 mg per capsule which is an anti-obesity medication used for the treatment of obesity, a complex multifactorial disease influenced by genetic factors. Lifast (orlistat capsules) is a gastric and pancreatic lipase inhibitor. It is otherwise known as tetrahydrolipstatin. Orlistat capsules are available in 60 / 120 mg doses. It reduces the caloric intake.
lifast works by inhibiting gastric and pancreatic lipases, the enzymes that break down triglycerides in the intestine. As a result the diets are excreted undigestly.
lifast (orlistat capsules) may reduce plasma levels of cyclosporin an immunosuppressive drug used to prevent transplant rejection. So the two drugs should not be administered concomitantly. Multivitamin supplementation should be taken at least two hours after the administration of orlistat. Lifast is contraindicated in chronic malabsorption syndrome, pregnancy and lactation.
