Ametron Injection contains Ondansetron 2mg/ml used in the management of nausea & vomiting in pregnancy, chemotherapy induced nausea & vomiting in adults and in children.

Ondansetron blocks the actions of chemicals in the body that induces nausea & vomiting. It reduces the activity of the vagus nerve which deactivates the vomiting centre in the medulla oblongata and also blocks serotonin receptors in the chemotrigger receptor zone .

Ondansetron is available in tablet and syrup dosage forms. 

Dosage:

• Adults: Intravenous dose of Ametron Injection is three 0.15-mg/kg doses up to a maximum of 16 mg per dose. The first dose starts 30 minutes before the initiation of emetogenic chemotherapy. Subsequent doses are administered in the 4^th and 8^th hour after the first dose
• For patients 6 months -18 years of age, the dose of Ametron Injection is three 0.15-mg/kg doses up to a maximum of 16 mg per dose. The first dose is to be administered 30 minutes before the initiation of highly emetogenic chemotherapy. The intravenous infusion should be completed in 15 minutes
